EC Meeting Held
Chaired by Fr. Casimir, the Executive Committee (EC) meeting on 18 August 2026 marked a renewed era of collaboration and transparency.
Key Takeaways & Financial Milestones
Fund Reconciliation & Ring-Fencing: The University and Association have mutually confirmed pending funds. The aggregate sum held with the University stands at ₹5.85 Cr (Corpus: ₹3.90 Cr | Interest: ₹1.95 Cr). Across both accounts, the Association now has ₹9.60 Cr in total available funds (₹7.36 Cr corpus and ₹2.24 Cr interest).
Tax-Exempt Roadmap: The Association is formalizing its tax-exempt status—spearheaded by Mumbai Chapter President Jiji John, paving the way for the full transfer of funds. In the interim, these funds remain legally ring-fenced exclusively for alumni activities, with accrued interest accessible for operational expenses.
Annual Accounts and Budget presented: For the first time, the accounts for 2025-26 were presented before the EC for approval, and we have a budget for 2026-27 for all alumni activities, not just those on campus
Chapter & Student Empowerment: The proposed 2026–27 budget introduces a baseline allocation of ₹2 Lakh per chapter to drive local engagement, alongside dedicated budgetary support for student Alumni Committees (AlCom).
Samaagam: An annual flagship alumni convention, SAMAAGAM, featuring Manthan (EC strategy sessions), Samvaad (cross-chapter knowledge exchange), Utkarsh (recognition to EC members who have gone above and beyond in their service to alumni and Association), and the AGM (if not already held).
Strengthening Brand XIMB: Funds have been earmarked for media, and PR at all Chapter & Central events to elevate our alma mater’s profile nationally, backed by Fr. Casimir’s assurance of additional institutional support where needed.
And all this has been possible only because we have worked together unitedly, without being swayed by either inducements or threats. We still have some way to go, but let us build upon the progress we have made so far, so that we can achieve our objectives - betterment of the alumni, the alma mater and Brand XIMB!
